The Baking Bible:  Fourth of July Cheesecake

Happy 4th of July!   I did not photograph the process of making the Fourth of July Cheesecake.  Our family and the Photographer's family celebrated the day together so there was little time to bake and photograph the entire process. The Photographer smoked brisket and pork shoulder which was absolutely delicious.  The cheesecake was incredible too. The blueberries, frosting, cheesecake and red velvet cake were the perfect combination.  I added 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder to give the cake a more chocolate flavor which made the cake considerably darker in appearance.  Since I was in a hurry, I just haphazardly frosted the cheesecake and tossed the blueberries on quickly.

There wasn't time to let the cheesecake chill before serving.  Even though the cheesecake turned out amazingly well, it would have been even better if it were chilled.

The Photographer's son "Cowboy" made mud pies with a side of fry sauce for everyone at the party. He told the Photographer to take a picture of his mud pie and post it on the blog.  So here it is Cowboy!

Hugs,

Anna

I'm glad to see that the cheesecake doesn't have to be all fancy-schmancy to look appetizing!
Oh, and nice mud pie, Cowboy!

Sounds like a great time was had by one and all! Cheesecake looks and sounds delicious. Love the mud pie! Side of "fry sauce", now that's a new one but sounds mighty good.

This cake would be perfect for a party. I think I prefer the deeper red colour with the extra cocoa. And the mud pie looks delicious too - congratulations cowboy!

Impressed Orin picked the blueberries to top her fabulous cheesecake … lol, yes Marie I'll be going with frozen blueberries for the pie :) I was unfamiliar with the word "kvetched" … oh I'm going to have to use that from now on :)

That is just the most perfect picture! Congrat's Orin. I guess I found this easy, just incredibly time consuming, because I followed Mendy's suggestion of baking the cheesecake first and using a nine inch pan for the cake so no sawing for me. Like your idea for a global cake holiday.

I did make this! My sister said it was the best cheesecake she ever had. I have to agree. As much as a major project this was, it was really good.
